School Kicks Off and Town Board Meets

We've reached the week that area students have been dreading since June. It's back to school in Wantagh and Seaford. We also have two meetings and a big town event.

Here's a look at what's ahead:

School's open: Students return to class in the Wantagh district Tuesday. They will also meet Wednesday before closing for the remainder of the week.  The Seaford School district reopens for class Wednesday.

Rosh Hashanah: Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday for Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish New Year, which begins at sundown on Wednesday.

BOE: The Wantagh School Board will meet on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. 

Town Board:  The Hempstead Town Board meets at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Triathalon: The Town is continuing registration for Saturday's Triathlon which will be held at Point Lookout. It gets underway at 8 a.m.
