Seaford resident Patti Friedel is leading a collection drive on behalf of the family from the Parkview Avenue house fire, who were visiting a relative’s home in Bellmore at the time of the blaze. In addition to suffering immense physical damage, the family lost their dog, who was unable to escape. The family includes a 15-year old girl and 12-year old boy, who both attend the Seaford Public Schools.

Friedel said after learning what her friends had suffered on Parkview Avenue she was able to collect $1,200 in a matter of hours on their behalf through only a few people. She then spread the word through Facebook and received a further boost when the Save Seaford Sports Committee sent out an email in regards to both families impacted by the fires.
