Seaford Harbor School to Re-Open Tuesday

Elementary school building passes inspection Monday after having power restored for first time since Superstorm Sandy struck on Oct. 29.

The Seaford Harbor School will be re-opening Tuesday after passing an inspection Monday once power returned to the building for the first time since Superstorm Sandy struck the area on Oct. 29.

Seaford school officials announced on the district's website Monday that all elementary students will resume their regular schedules starting Tuesday. Last week after re-opening Tuesday, the district's elementary school students were combined at Seaford Manor School.

The district also announced Monday that any family with Seaford students living in a temporary housing situation after being displaced by the storm should call Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum John Striffolino at 516-592-4006.

"We appreciate everyone’s support and cooperation during this unprecedented community tragedy," the district message stated Monday.  "The spirit of volunteerism that was exhibited by so many during the last two weeks has been remarkable and very much appreciated. The Seaford community will continue to recover steadily through this strength of community and the dedicated efforts of many."
