Seaford HS Holds 2nd Annual College Awareness Day

Event celebrated post-graduate opportunities for Seaford seniors.

Spirits ran high at Seaford High School on May 1 when as seniors and staff marked the college commitment deadline with the school’s second annual College Awareness Day.

Staff as well as the senior class wore their college sweatshirts with names such as Columbia, Binghamton and the University of Michigan. The day sparked curiosity and conversations about college planning among the entire student body.

“We wanted to congratulate our seniors on their college choices and inspire underclassmen to explore post-graduate possibilities,” said Frank Stazzone, Seaford High School’s director of guidance. “It’s a great way to foster connections with teachers and students by facilitating conversations and building morale. It also gives teachers an opportunity to share their college experiences and offer advice.”

The Class of 2013 celebrated their acceptances to Fordham University, Pratt Institute, Boston University, Indiana University Bloomington, and Stony Brook University, among many others.
