Here's what's happening this week in and around the Wantagh-Seaford area

Enjoy what's left of the summer, as we head into the final week before the Labor Day weekend, schools are getting geared up for a new year. Â We'll also see an alternative energy program unveiled in Seaford.
Here's a look at what's ahead:
Solar Power: Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray will be at  Seaman's Neck Park Monday, to unveil the town's new solar powered facilities on Monday. Stay with Patch for details.
School Startup:Â As summer winds down, schools are gearing up for a new year. Â Both the Wantagh and Seaford School Districts are holding 9th grade orientation this week. Wantagh's will be on Monday, Seaford on Thursday. New teachers will also report this week in Wantagh.
PTA: The Forest Lake PTA will hold a Family Barbecue on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Blood Drive: Â THe Seaford Fire Department will hold a blood drive on Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
