Wall Fire Breaks Out in Seaford Apartment
Firefighters quickly extinguish blaze and nobody injured.
A small fire broke out in a Seaford apartment early Monday afternoon that was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
According to Chief Patrick McIntyre, a fire broke out in the wall of the second floor apartment located above on 2251 Jackson Ave. Chief McIntyre said the wall fire was caused by someone who was working on the roof of the building, which is located across the street from the . Minor damage was incurred to the apartment.
Everyone inside both Pinnacle Tax and the upstairs apartment was safely evacuated. The fire was put out by Seaford firefighters in about five minutes, according to McIntyre.

The fire broke out soon after Seaford Fire Department members had attended funeral services for Bill Powell, who was a Seaford firefighter for 46 years. Seaford firefighters responded and assumed operational control from the , which provided mutual aid during the funeral. The Massapequa and North Massapequa Fire Department also responded to the scene.
