Wantagh Girls Basketball Players Honored

Six Wantagh High School girls basketball players were recognized with postseason awards following a successful 2012/13 season that saw the Lady Warriors capture its first regular season conference title since 2007.

The Wantagh players honored include:

• Alex Parlato (All-State and All-County)
• Demi Valenti (All-County)
• Christina Peden (All-County)
• Nikki Sliwak (All-Conference)
• Erin Pugh (All-Class A)
• Erin Smith (Nassau County Senior Scholar Athlete)

“All of these young ladies are quite deserving of their awards,” said Wantagh head coach Stan Bujacich. “They all worked very hard to earn them.”

Bujacich also earned Nassau County Coach of the Year and Conference ABC1 Coach of the Year honors.
