Stage presentation shows children the power of one.

It was a fun program that dealt with a serious problem.

Students at Wantagh Elementary School took part in a program that encourages children to take charge to stop bullying.

Called "The Power of One," actors took part in a sketch that highlighted different types of bullying.

The stage set  consisted of colored boxes representing the different roles in bullying scenarios.

Actors wore  a green mask to represent the bully, a purple mask to represent the target and a yellow mask to represent the bystander.

Student Isabella Ciaccio portrayed a superhero who  ooked  into a white box, which contained a mirror, and realized that she has the ability to report and deal with bullying.

“Don’t be a bystander,” said Ben Robert, one of the actors in the program. “Learn to be an upstander, a person who takes an active role to stop bullying.”
