Wantagh Man Charged with Knifepoint Robbery in North Bellmore

Police say 25-year old man approached victims in rear of elementary school.

A Wantagh man was arrested by police in the early hours of Saturday morning and charged with committing a robbery at knifepoint in a North Bellmore elementary school.

According to Nassau County First Squad detectives, three 20 year old males and one 19 year old male were at the rear of Saw Mill Road Elementary School in North Bellmore when they were approached by Kirill Fattakhov, 25, of Wantagh. Police said Fattakhov displayed a knife and demanded money. The victims surrendered money and fled the scene on foot, according to detectives.

Fattakhov was apprehended by police a short time later at Doris Avenue and Harrison Street in North Bellmore where the proceeds and knife were recovered. No injuries were reported.

Fattakhov is charged with three counts of first-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
