Wantagh Park Swimming Pool to Open June 27

With hot temperatures hitting the area this week, many local residents will be seeking places to stay cool but the swimming pool will not be one of those options until the end the month.

Wantagh Park, along with other Nassau County facilities, will not open their swimming pools for the summer season until June 27, according to a county spokeswoman. Wantagh Park and the other county-run pools will be open from June 27 to Labor Day. The pools will be open during the summer season from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

The Wantagh Park swimming complex includes an Olympic-sized main pool along with a diving pool, “kiddie” pool and training pool. The facility also offers an interactive water-play area and two 30-foot waterslides.
