WEEKLY RECAP: Seaford Luxury Home Development Nears Completion, Uniting for Suicide Awareness

The Pironi Homes at Villa Park Estates project in Seaford is nearing completion a decade after building applications were first filed for the luxury development on Harland Road.

Six of the 10 planned houses located off Washington Avenue near the corner of Jerusalem Avenue are completed and sold, according to Silvana Bosco, listing agent for the homes. Bosco said she hopes to have the other three homes sold and constructed by the spring. There is also a model house currently being shown to prospective buyers that will also be sold.

A motion in Nassau County Supreme Court attempting to have a judge reverse his  upholding the Town of Hempstead zoning board’s  for North Bellmore strip club owner Billy Dean's cabaret application at a has been withdrawn.

The motion, which was postponed three times since early July, had been scheduled for Justice Antonio Brandveen’s Wednesday morning calendar. Susan Trenkle-Pokalsky, press secretary for the Town of Hempstead, said they received word Monday about the motion being dropped.

More than 100 local residents gathered at  Sunday afternoon for a day full of soccer in memory of Benjamin Sassoon, a 2009 Wantagh graduate who  last March at the Bellmore train station. 

Bellmore resident Brian Gitlitz organized the fundraiser in honor of his best friend to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
