
Friday marks the start of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of atonement. It is a day of prayer, fasting and reflecting upon one's sins. It's the holiest  day of the Jewish calendar.
Here's a look at area services. Please note that most services usually require tickets:
Temple B'Nai Torah: Located at 2900 Jerusalem Avenue in Wantagh. Kol Nidre Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. There will be a family service Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Regular morning service and religious school will be at 10:30 a.m. THere will be a 1:30 p.m. Yizkor service and text study from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Afternoon services will be at 4 p.m. and the concluding service will be at 5:45 p.m.
Congregation Beth Tikvah: Located at 3710 Woodbine Avenue in Wantagh. Â Erev Yom Kippur followed by Kol Nidre Services starts at 6:45 p.m. Friday. Morning services will be held Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Yizkor services are at 1:45 p.m. while evening services will be held at 5:30 p.m.
