Famed Designer's Home for Sale in Quogue
Arnold Scaasi made a splash with his love for glamour.

“I love color! I love symmetry! I love glamour!” were words fashion designer Arnold Scaasi lived by.
Scaasi, who helped dress four former first ladies, Mamie Eisenhower, Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush, along with countless Hollywood celebs — envision Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Crawford, Natalie Wood — and fashionable ladies who lunch, passed away last year at the age of 85.
Along with his colorful style footprint, he left behind his remarkable 4000 sq. ft.waterfront estate that embodies the things he loved: color, symmetry and glam. And now the 7-bedroom/6.5-bathroom 1920s three-story home is for sale at what many will see as a bargain price of $4.95 million.

Scaasi loved this home so much that in 1992 he told the New York Times in 1992 that after living here, he once moved into another home in Quogue and after just one night there, he moved back to his beloved estate.
The home’s interior, complete with vintage wallpaper as colorful as Scaasi’s designer threads, is situated on the bay, affording breathtaking views of Dune Road and the Atlantic Ocean. Scaaladd, what he and his partner called their home, on 1.7 acres, is a piece of fashion and design history.
