Man Found Asleep In His Vehicle Charged With Felony DWI: Police

The East Hampton man was arrested in Hampton Bays Sunday, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A man found asleep in his vehicle in Hampton Bays was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, at about 3:19 p.m., Southampton Town police received a call about someone possibly asleep in his vehicle on Flanders Road by Sunrise Highway. Southampton Town police responded and observed the driver, Luis Sigua-Sisalima, 37, of East Hampton, asleep with the vehicle running, police said.

Upon further investigation, Sigua-Sisalima was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol; Sigua-Sisalima was arrested and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for arrest processing, police said. He was charged with two counts of felony DWI and multiple vehicle and traffic violations, police said.

He was held overnight to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment, police said.
