Woman Caught Driving While Intoxicated With Juvenile Under 16 In Car: Police
The Hampton Bays woman is facing a felony charge under Leandra's Law, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays woman was arrested early Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated with a juvenile under 16 in her vehicle, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, at about 3:02 a.m., a report came in regarding a vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays, police said.
An officer located the vehicle and saw the driver committing several vehicle-and-traffic infractions on Shinnecock Road, police said.

A traffic stop and investigation revealed that the driver, Nube Suarez-Cedillo, 44, was driving the vehicle in an intoxicated condition, with a passenger under the age of 16, police said.
Suarez-Cedillo was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law, a felony; endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor; and multiple vehicle and traffic law infractions, police said.

She was transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing and held for morning arraignment, police said.
