Woman Charged In Hit-And-Run Crash That Killed Sara Burack Of 'Million Dollar Beach House': PD
She's facing a felony charge, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Virginia woman was arrested Friday and charged in connection with the Hampton Bays hit-and-run crash that took the life of real estate agent Sara Burack, 40, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, at 1:46 p.m., detectives arrested Amanda Kempton, 32, and charged her with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash with a fatality, a felony.
Kempton was processed and is being held overnight for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a crash that occurred on Thursday at about 2:45 a.m. in the vicinity of the Villa Paul restaurant, located at 133 Montauk Highway West, police said.
Burack was a well-known Hamptons real estate agent who had worked, in past years, for Nest Seekers International and appeared in the 2020 Netflix series "Million Dollar Beach House."

Burack succumbed to the injuries she sustained after being struck by a driver who fled the scene, police said.
Dylan Eckardt, who worked with Burack for almost five years at Nest Seekers, mourned her loss. "She worked right next to me for a long time," he said. "She was an unbelievable agent. She could handle herself in New York as well as the Hamptons. I'm so sorry that this happened. Condolences go to her family."
According to Southampton Town police, at about 2:45 a.m., a 911 call came in regarding a female lying in the roadway on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays in the vicinity of Villa Paul Restaurant.
Officers responded and found Burack unconscious with serious injuries from apparently being struck by a driver who fled the scene, police said.
Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded and transported Burack to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she died, police said.
Southampton Town police detectives and the New York State Police Department's crash reconstruction unit responded to the scene to continue the investigation, police said.
A portion of the roadway was closed for several hours during the investigation, police said.
