Have you ever wondered about the stories behind the old mansions and inns dotting the South Shore? West Islip resident Christopher Collora, author of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/LongIslandHistoricHousesoftheSouthShore" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Long Island Historic Houses of the South Shore</a>, will give a <a href="https://westislip.patch.com/groups/announcements/p/long-island-historic-houses-of-the-south-shore-multimedia-presentation_4ad3debb" rel="nofollow">multimedia presentation</a> detailing some of those historic properties on Thursday at West Islip Library at 2 p.m. Collora will delve into the history of several prominent landmarks, including West Islip's own La Grange Inn. If you can't make it Thursday afternoon, Collora will return to the library for an encore presentation along with the West Islip Historical Society on Tuesday, June 18 at 7 p.m.
