New Scoreboard Unveiled At WI High School

A ceremony to officially unveil the new scoreboard in the high school boys’ gymnasium was held Tuesday night before the between West Islip and Half Hollow Hills East.

Tim Horan, the school district’s director of athletics, physical education and health and recreation, thanked Chris Hillier and Bob Christensen for their efforts to fund raise more than $20,000 that was donated to West Islip schools to cover the cost of the new scoreboard.

At the crux of the fundraising effort was a , a renowned Billy Joel tribute band that was held at the high school. Numerous local businesses also donated to the effort to purchase the new scoreboard.
