West Islip rebounds from sluggish performance against Bay Shore to defeat East Islip 17-7.

The West Islip boys lacrosse team took the short trek east down Sunrise Highway to face East Islip, which it defeated 17-7 Wednesday afternoon.

It was a bounce-back game for the Lions who gutted out a on Monday at West Islip High School.

With Ward Melville on the horizon, the possibility of the contest vs. East Islip being a trap game existed, but West Islip quickly put that notion to bed. The Lions raced out to a 6-1 first quarter lead and went to the half up 10-2.

Many of West Islip starters spent the second half on the sidelines and the second- and third-teamers kept up the pressure on East Islip scoring seven second half goals. 

Twelve different Lions scored goals led by Mike Moynihan's hat-trick and two goals from Mike Cestaro.
