Police Searching for Wallet Thief

Third Precinct officers asking public's help in identifying woman.

Suffolk police are currently seeking the public's help in identifying a woman who stole a wallet at a West Islip gift shop back in May.

According to police, an unknown woman walked into OM Popular Cards and Gifts (located at 522 Union Blvd.) around 1 p.m. on May 4 and stole a wallet that was left on the counter.

Police said the woman was a regular customer at the store and might work in a nearby medical office.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will remain anonymous.
