September 1: So Long, Summer

Say farewell to summer as we know it.  Hello homework, football and fall!

As of Wednesday night (11:40 p.m.), LIPA reports that 63 percent of power outages have been restored in West Islip.  But 1,960 homes are still without it.  

Patch spoke with the WIFD last night to get their Hurricane Irene report.  And it's actually good news.
