For the ninth consecutive year, West Islip took Wednesday, after defeating longstanding rival Ward Melville 9-6. The Lions now face Nassau Class A champs Syosset on Saturday, with a 3:30 p.m. game at Hofstra University. So far, the Lions have fallen only to Chaminade this season.
