Made up of the "wonderful, hard-working, and loving" women of West Islip, this organization aims to promote philanthropy and volunteerism to make West Islip a better place to live and work.

If you're looking for a way to get in touch with the West Islip community, or even just looking to make new friends, stop by for this general meeting.

Tuesday

6 a.m. to 10 p.m.,

Vote for the proposed budget for the 2012-2013 school yearand cast your vote for two Board of Education seats.

Wednesday

7 p.m.,

Looking for a way to blow off some steam on hump day? Café Mojo hosts its “mind-bending” trivia contest. The questions can be tough, and the song rounds are challenging, but teams seem to get through it okay, either learning a whole lot of useless trivia facts or realizing they are smarter than they thought.

Get together at the library with other teens for a night of making friends and fun projects. Teens grades 7-12 will be creating pinhole cameras. Call for more information.

Listen to a lecture given by Louise Cella Caruso with accompanying slideshow devoted to Georgia O'Keefe. Caruso will interpret offer insight into O'Keefe's works.
