Pet Food Drive begins

The WIIT Council (West Islip Involved Teens) of the West Islip Public Library is collecting wet and dry dog and cat food for the Town of Islip Animal Shelter. This food will be used to nourish the animals at the Shelter as well as to establish a food bank for residents who need assistance in caring for their pets. Donated items may be placed in the box located near the Circulation Desk. The drive runs through April 21.

Gluten Free Italian Cooking
Gluten-free Chef Christine Puleo will offer tips and suggestions on how to create delicious Italian meals, including pizza, with gluten free ingredients. The food she will demonstrate with and prepare is gluten free, however, whether one is on a gluten restricted diet or not, these dishes will more than satisfy your craving for authentic Italian fare and delight your family and friends as well. All attendees will sample the foods prepared and will take home the recipes.

Lights on Literature
March’s Lights on Literature discussion will featured “In The Woods” by Tana French. Led by Pat Magee, the group will focus on the book that features Rob Ryan, a Dublin detective, who as a young boy was found gripping a tree in terror and unable to remember anything that happened that afternoon when his friends went missing. Now, it’s happened again. Can he and his partner solve this mystery and the previous one this time around?

Make a Music Video (open to students 4th grade and up)
In this hands-on class, participants will take pictures, graphics and music to create a music video! Bring a USB with your favorite song and pictures.
