West Islip's Reese Nabs Hole-in-One at Timber Point
Senior John Reese aced the sixth hole en route to a team-low 38.

West Islip senior John Reese, who normally rotates as the fourth and fifth man on the boys golf team, was number one at Timber Point's White Course on Wednesday.
Reese, who'll attend Yale next fall, stepped up to the 125 yard par-3 sixth hole and aced it with an A-wedge (also known as a gap wedge). It was his first career hole-in-one.
Reese also tied the team-low score of 38 (2-over-par), but it wasn't enough as West Islip (7-2) was edged by rival East Islip (6-0) by one shot.

When play was finished, head coach George Botsch said he thought the match was tied, but one of East Islip's players counted up an eight on a hole when it was really a seven.
The Lions will get a chance at redemption against the Redmen on Tuesday at their home course Southward Ho CC.
