WFAN's Craig Carton gave West Islip some more love on Friday. During the "Boomer and Carton" show, the co-host donned a blue and gold West Islip Football T-shirt, which could be seen by the program's many television viewers on MSG Network. It's the second time within the past month that Carton has put West Islip athletics in the spotlight. , he along with several staffers wore West Islip apparel in an attempt to mock co-host Boomer Esiason, an East Islip High School graduate and former NFL quarterback. As many West Islip residents know, East Islip and West Islip are big sports rivals. During the show on Friday, a caller asked Carton why he was wearing the West Islip shirt. "It's my favorite Long Island football program," he responded, drawing a snicker from Esiason. It's not clear if Carton will be making the trip to West Islip Friday afternoon to cheer on the Lions as they play Sachem North in the semi-finals of the Suffolk Class A lacrosse playoffs.
