WI College LAX Report: Crimi, Sangiorgio Lead Adelphi

Former West Islip stars lead one of Division II's top teams.

The college lacrosse season is in full swing and some former West Islip High School stars are once again having an impact. Throughout the spring season, Patch will provide weekly updates on local players. • It was a big week for Devan Crimi of Adelphi as the junior attack had 13 goals and 4 assists in three games. The highlight was her 8 goal/3 assist performance in the Panthers’ 18-12 win over Lindenwood. Her teammate, Sara Sangiorgio had 5 goals this past week in three games.

• Brown’s Jack Kelly had 19 saves as the Bears defeated Darmouth 8-7 in triple overtime. Kelly finished his freshman season with a record of 7-4.

Michael McCormack had 5 groundballs and 2 caused turnovers for Yale as the Bulldogs defeated Harvard 11-10.

• Michael Sagl had 1 goal and 1 assist for Quinnipiac but the Bobcats fell to Robert Morris 9-7.

• Towson’s Andrew Hodgson had 2 goals and three assists in the Tigers 13-6 win over St. Joseph’s.

Matt Gebhardt of Pace had 2 goals and 2 assist but the Setters fell to Franklin Pierce 12-10.

A.J. Pellati had four saves and played 28:52 of Mercy’s 12-6 win over Dominican.

• Marquette’s JJ Sagl made 14 saves but the Golden Eagles lost to St. John’s 15-10.  For the Golden Eagles, Paul Riportella had 3 groundballs, Jerry Nobile had 3 groundballs, Liam Byrnes had 6 groundballs and 1 caused turnover and Bryan Badolato had 1 assist and 2 groundballs.

Katie Rotan of LIU Post had 4 goals and 1 assist in the Pioneers 17-6 over Molloy.

Casey Sarle had 1 goal and 1 assist for Oneonta as the Red Dragons defeated Oswego State 20-13.

Deanna Monfredo had 3 goals and 1 assist for Curry in the Colonels 14-12 win over Roger Williams.

Paige Engeldrum had 1 groundball and 1 draw control for Hamilton in the team’s 10-9 over Bowdoin in the NESCAC Championship quarterfinal.
