WHITE PLAINS, NY — A Westchester County hospital is in elite company, according to a new report.

Burke Rehabilitation, a member of the Montefiore Health System, announced on Tuesday that it has been recognized among the nation's Best Rehabilitation Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report in their 2025-26 rankings.

Burke offers treatment and patient-centered services for stroke, orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions, brain and spinal cord injury, and amputation. The facility was recognized in part for its reputation for setting the standard of excellence in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

"This national recognition from U.S. News & World Report reflects the commitment and expertise of our dedicated Burke team year-over-year," Executive Director of Burke Rehabilitation Scott Edelman explained. "Every day, our team goes above and beyond to deliver personalized, comprehensive care ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients, with a focus on maximizing function, fostering independence, and enhancing quality of life."

Burke is the largest single provider of stroke rehabilitation in New York.

The hospital prides itself on taking a whole person approach to care, "driving exceptional outcomes for even the most complex patients." This promise includes supporting patients with other serious health issues. In 2024, Burke became the first, and only freestanding, rehabilitation hospital in the state to offer inpatient hemodialysis, filling a critical gap for patients with late-stage renal disease who require intensive rehabilitation.

Burke is New York's only freestanding rehabilitation hospital to earn the Level 2 Age-Friendly Health Systems designation. The hospital has also been named one of Westchester County's Best Places to Work by 914INC.
