2 Accused of Stealing From Macy's

THe following arrest report was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Yonkers man and women were arrested this week after police say they worked together while trying to steal purses and wallets from in White Plains.

A 51-year-old woman and 60-year-old man were stopped by security at about 5:45 p.m. on June 22 after security noticed the man picking out items in the store and handing them to the woman. Security told police the woman used wire cutters to remove security devices from two wallets and two purses before they tried to leave without paying.

The two suspects were arrested after security found the items and wire cutters in the woman's purse outside the store's exit.

Police charged both with misdemeanor petit larceny. The woman was also charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of burglar's tools.

The total value of the purses and wallets was $413.

Both suspects were held at police headquarters on $500 bail.
