2 Arrested After Early Morning Disturbances at WP Bar

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

Two men who refused to leave a White Plains bar at closing time after a night of partying now face resisting arrest and disorderly conduct charges, police say.

The separate incidents took place just after 4 a.m. Sunday when security staff at on Mamaroneck Ave. was clearing the bar for closing. But Anas Melouane, 33, of Greenwich, CT, and Kenneth Hairston, 21, of New Rochelle, both refused to leave the bar, according to arrest reports.

Security told police that Hairston became upset that he was asked to leave and began throwing closed fist punches at a security guard. Other bar staff helped throw Hairston out of the establishment, where police noticed the situation. Police say Hairston took another swing at an officer at the scene, who subdued him and placed him under arrest.

Police charged Hairston with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation. He was taken into police custody.

About five minutes later Melouane also became violent with the staff at Elements, trying to punch one security guard and pulling another to the ground as he lost his balance, an arrest report said.

Police at the scene attempted to arrest Melouane, but he repeatedly tried to escape from custody, an arrest report said. Once police got Melouane under control they placed him under arrest and charged him with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
