6th Annual Downtown White Plains Wing Walk Ready To Take Flight

WHITE PLAINS, NY — If you're partial to wings, then White Plains is the place to be Saturday during the 6th Annual Downtown White Plains Wing Walk.

Sponsored by the White Plains BID, with support from the City of White Plains, the Wing Walk will take place from noon to 5 p.m.

For the first time, VIP tickets will be offered with extended time in response to guest feedback. VIP tickets will allow participants to enjoy the full event hours, from noon to 5 p.m., providing ample time to sample each wing flavor without feeling rushed. VIP guests, aged 21 and older, will also receive a complimentary glass of Stella Artois at participating restaurants. VIP attendees will also benefit from an expedited check-in process with a separate line.

Regular 2.5 hour tickets will remain as an option.

Online tickets are priced at $40 ($45 day of) for VIP, $25 ($30 day of) for general admission, and $15 ($20 day of) for children 5-10 years old. Children under 5 are free.

Online ticket sales end on Friday, April 25 at 11:59 p.m., unless they sell out before. The 2024 event sold out on the day of the event, and 2,000 guests are expected this year.

"It’s a great event that builds community and moves people door to door to some of our most dynamic restaurants in town. And, it’s fun! Organizers say that guests will be able to try unique wing flavors beyond the classic buffalo variety this year, including Blueberry Chipotle, Citrus Honey Ginger, Mexican Street Corn, and Sweet Spicy Tamarind Glaze.

There will be 16 restaurants participating, with most offering two flavors:

• Hudson Grille: Pineapple Sweet Chili, Jalapeño Cilantro
• Lilly's: Sweet Spicy Tamarind Glaze, Thai Spiced Dry Rub
• Mario's Pizza Restaurant: Buffalo, BBQ
• Ron Blacks Beer Hall: Buffalo Garlic Parmesan
• Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar: Shiraz Wings (saffron), Pome Wings (pomegranate)
• Sundance Kitchen & Cantina: Mole Poblano, Street Corn with Tajin
• Tepe's Kitchen: Blueberry Chipotle, Sweet Heat

With the purchase of a wristband, participants will be able to sample two wings from each participating restaurant during 2.5-hour rounds and then rate each wing on a digital ballot. After submitting their ballot, attendees will receive a digital voucher for six additional wings, redeemable at any participating restaurant from April 27 to May 2.

Wingston Lemon-Pepper, the chicken mascot, will be present to "bring an extra layer of joy to the festivities as he frolics through the bustling streets of Downtown White Plains."

Organizers said there will also be live music and entertainment such as chicken cornhole.

The Wing Walk will once again feature both a People's Choice Champion, determined by digital ballots, and a Judge's Choice Champion, selected by a VIP Judges Panel of culinary experts.

The members of the culinary panel include Chef Ron Gallo (Executive Chef at the Happy Monkey) and Kathi Gallo (Director of Catering at the HPH Hospitality Group in Manhattan), Phil McGrath (Chair, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management - SUNY Westchester), Jason Bertolini (Dana Distributors), and Francis Volpe and Nicky Smalls (Snack Time TV, Food Influencers with over 300k subscribers overall on their social media platforms).

Past People's Choice Wing Walk winners include Lazy Boy Saloon (2024, 2019), Alex Lounge (2021), Delicias Del Jireh (2022), and Alex Lounge (2023). The 2024 Judge's Choice award was given to Lilly’s with their Jerk Chicken Wings.
