ArtsWestchester Hosts Free Day of Art, Workshops, and Open Studios
The December 13 event runs from noon to 5 p.m. at ArtsWestchester's historic landmark headquarters at 31 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains.

White Plains, N.Y. (December 2, 2025) – ArtsWestchester will host a vibrant day of free art, hands-on workshops, and open artist studios that offer attendees immersive experiences in artistic expression.
The December 13 event runs from noon to 5 p.m. at ArtsWestchester’s historic landmark headquarters, a cultural hub where the public can meet the creators who call the building home.
“This open house is a special opportunity to experience art and imagination firsthand, with the opportunity to find inspiration, serenity, or beauty in unexpected places,” said ArtsWestchester CEO Kathleen Reckling.

Visitors can begin their visit by exploring the current exhibition Meltdown: A Changing Climate, where artists imagine the potential impacts of climate change specifically on the Hudson Valley region.
Exhibition-related family workshops will be held between noon and 2 p.m. for children aged 5 to 12. Kids will learn, play, and grow by engaging with themes from the gallery’s exhibition through printmaking and paper crafting.

Throughout the afternoon, many of the professional artists, photographers, sculptors, and creative businesses housed within the historic nine-story building will open their studios so that visitors can learn about the creative process.
The open studios are also an ideal time for holiday shoppers to find one-of-a-kind handmade gifts while supporting local creatives.
