Last year’s Olympics was a big success, attracting nearly 100 fathers and children.  “This year, the Youth Bureau hopes to attract even more fathers and children,” said Frank Williams, Jr., Director of the Youth Bureau.  This pre-Father’s Day event will include tennis, basketball, softball, golf, track and field games and more.

The Fatherhood Olympics is a part of the White Plains Youth Bureau’s Fatherhood Initiative, which began in 2009. This initiative also sponsors: Dad Take Your Child to School Day, the Dads Cable Television Show, and The Parents Join the Conversation, a bi-weekly meeting in collaboration with the African American Advisory Board.

Applications for the Fatherhood Olympics can be downloaded from the White Plains Youth Bureau’s website: www.WhitePlainsYouthBureau.org.  For more information, contact Frank Williams, Jr. at 914-422-1378, x2105 or fwill@whiteplainsny.gov.
