This free race is open to the community (families, college students, young adults and adults). Each team must be between three to six people and consist of at least one person who is 18-years-old or older.
Teams receive a pre-determined pile of recycled corrugated cardboard and roll of duct tape. From these supplies, each team constructs a boat capable of carrying one person.

Teams may plan strategies ahead of time, but all boats are to be constructed on site directly before the race and only with the materials provided by the Y.
All boats must have sides (no rafts or surfboards). Each team designates their boat “driver” (drivers must be age 12+.) Each driver will be required to wear a PFD and use a paddle to maneuver their boat from one end of the pool to the other. The regatta will have heats based on age groups.
Winners are determined either by reaching the end of the pool first or whichever boat lasts the longest.
Spectators are welcome. Light, healthy refreshments will be available.
