
MONDAY: Commuter should be on the lookout for fog this morning. The National Weather Service has issued a fog advisory for southern Westchester until 10 a.m. this morning. There is also a chance for rain showers this morning, with a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon.
MONDAY: The White Plains Common Council is scheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in city hall, located at 255 Main Street. During the meeting, oaths of offices will be administered to Mayor Thomas Roach, City Court Judge Jo Ann Friia, Councilman John Kirkpatrick, Councilman John Martin and Councilwoman Beth Smayda. TUESDAY: The White Plains Public Library is hosting its Kerbal Space Program today from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Kerbal Space is a computer application in which players create and manage missions to space. The goal is to build spacecraft, fly them, and attempt to land “Kerbals” on distant celestial objects. Teens in The Edge can virtually create and manage flights to space on Tuesdays in January. WEDNESDAY: The White Plains Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 7 p.m., inside White Plains city hall, Agenda items include an application by Sunrise Detox to reverse a decision rendered by the White Plains Commissioner of Building, Damon Amadio, P.E. on Aug. 14, 2013, and to obtain an interpretation. WEDNESDAY: The White Plains Library continues its "1st Wednesday" series with an open mic, SLAM competition and guest poet. To take part in the open mic or slam, please register at 6:30 pm. Slammers should bring one original poem of up to 3 minutes. Registration closes at 7 p.m., and the program starts shortly thereafter.
