Find out what's happening in White Plainsfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Where/When: Gymboree, 450 Central Ave. in Scarsdale, NY—Fri., 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: Calling all dads, grandfathers uncles and other male caregivers: this is your chance to have that special bonding time with your children in an open gym session, with no moms allowed! Moms you’ll get a whole two-hour break after the long week!

2.) The Circus is in Town!

Where/When: Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave. White Plains, NY—Sat., Sun., Mon.; 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and  6 p.m.

Why go: Because its the circus! The Royal Hanneford Circus will feature flying acrobats, elephants, tigers, trapeze artists and the human cannonball.

3.) The Underground Railroad: An Interactive Storytime

Where/When: White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave. White Plains, NY—1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Why go: Let your kids honor Black History Month by learning about the Underground Railroad, while on a scavenger hunt for clues throughout the library. This storywalk is based on "Henry's Freedom Box: A True Story from the Underground Railroad" by Kadir Nelson, and is open to families with children in first through sixth grade.

4.) Bilingual Story Time

Where/When: Barnes & Noble, 230 Main St. White Plains, NY—Sat., 4 p.m.

Why go: Help your child learn Spanish and English by listening to stories read in both languages at Barnes & Noble.

5.) Book Blast at The Galleria

Where/When: The Galleria, Main Street Level—Sat. noon to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Listen to local celebrities reading famous children’s books, get free prizes and a goodie bag, in addition to a sneak peek at the new movie “The Little Engine That Could,” on DVD March 22. You and your children can also donate gently used book, and learn more about The Orphan Campaign, which helps to provide shoes for orphans. Donate at its website and receive a copy of the free children’s book “SHOES.”
