Greca Brings Upscale Dining to Downtown White Plains
Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar offers rustic, reimagined Greek Cuisine
White Plains, NY (September 28, 2021) – Louis and Kylie Cappelli and restauranteur Constantine “Dino” Kolitsas today celebrated the opening of their new restaurant, Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar featuring rustic and reimagined Greek cuisine in the heart of White Plains.
Located at 189 Main Street and Renaissance Square (the former Mediterraneo), Greca’s management team is led by Kolitsas, who opened the first Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar in Litchfield County, Connecticut in 2019 to rave reviews and multiple statewide awards. Joining him are Executive Chef Kosta Ndreu who honed his craft at a number of fabled New York Greek restaurants, including Ethos, Trata and Kyma; General Manager Rachel Cosgrove, who served as the Assistant General Manager and Event Coordinator at BLT Steak; and legendary NYC barman Frankie Rodriguez, who was behind the city’s cocktail renaissance as Bar Manager of the famous Death & Co in the East Village.
“Our vision was to bring an upscale Greek restaurant to White Plains that would fill a void for the type of dining that is both comfortable, but offers creative, high quality cuisine,’’ said Louis R. Cappelli, Managing Member of the Cappelli Organization. “We have assembled a formidable, experienced team who will make sure our guests have a wonderful time and come to love this restaurant and its menu as much as we do.”

“Almost every Sunday, Louis and I go to premiere Greek restaurants in Manhattan, and in Greca we have found the perfect addition to the White Plains dining scene, even surpassing those New York City restaurants,” said Kylie Cappelli.
Dignitaries including Westchester County Executive George Latimer and White Plains Mayor Tom Roach attended the ribbon cutting for the restaurant and sampled some of the menu.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Downtown White Plains is home to a vibrant food culture – and this new restaurant by Louis and Kylie Cappelli will certainly add to it. While the food, atmosphere and hospitality will be outstanding, this more importantly shows that Westchester County is on its way back. COVID-19 hit us hard, especially those in the service industry, but with each new restaurant opening brings new life, new economic development and new opportunities for employment. May this opening be one of many as we as a County recover – together – to be stronger than we were before.”
"I'm happy to welcome Greca to White Plains and excited to give it a try. We have many terrific restaurants in our city and with their all-star lineup in the kitchen and behind the bar, Greca is sure to shine. With this addition, we add to the already substantial variety of cuisines that diners can enjoy in our city." said White Plains Mayor Tom Roach.
Kolitsas is a highly regarded restaurateur who has owned and managed restaurants in Westchester, Manhattan, Fairfield County, Hartford County and Long Island. He opened the first Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar in Litchfield County in late 2019, and within its first year was awarded “Best Overall Excellence”, “Best New Restaurant”, and “Best Mediterranean/Greek Restaurant” by Connecticut Magazine.
“After being introduced to the public by Greek diners and church festivals, a number of amazing restaurants located in the largest metropolitan centers of the United States have elevated Greek cuisine to the level it deserves,” said Kolitsas. “At Greca, we are committed to bringing these experiences to new markets, and we are especially excited to bring the exceptional cuisine and hospitality for which Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar is known for to our new home in White Plains.’’
