Health Advisory Lifted For Hudson River: Westchester County
Partially treated sewage was released into the Hudson River which triggered the advisory that people should swim in the river.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Westchester County Department of Health lifted its advisory on the Hudson River Thursday.
Swimming and recreational boating can safely resume at Croton Point Beach and Phillipse Manor Beach Friday, officials said.
The advisory was put in place while repairs were being made on a 30-inch force main break in Tarrytown.

Those repairs were completed Wednesday.
The Health Department lifted the advisory after reviewing the results of river water samples.

Partially treated sewage was released into the Hudson River earlier in the week. Once the break was repaired, officials said sewage was being fully treated.
