Heritage Of India Festival Set For Kensico Dam Plaza

VALHALLA, NY — The annual Heritage of India Festival will be held at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.
The 23rd annual festival will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6.
County Executive George Latimer said residents can take this annual opportunity to visit faraway India without ever leaving Westchester County.

“Indian culture places great emphasis on physical purity, spiritual refinement and family,” he said.
“Bring your family and friends to Kensico and discover the many contributions the people of India have made to our culturally diverse county,” Latimer said.

The festival will feature children’s arts and crafts, an Indian bazaar, henna art, Indian cuisine and live cultural performances.
Activities will take place rain or shine. Seating is informal, and people should bring blankets or folding chairs for seating on the lawn. No coolers will be allowed.
Admission and parking are free, organizers said. Carpooling or taking mass transit is encouraged.
Kensico Dam Plaza is located at 1 Bronx River Parkway in Valhalla.
