Highways Are Closed Due to Flooding

Here are local highway closings as of 6 a.m.

Get your GPS and map a good route, because many local highways are closed due to flooding:

  • The Saw Mill River Parkway is closed north and southbound from Yonkers to Cherry Street in Bedford Hills.
  •  Route 119 is closed at the Saw Mill River Parkway in Greenburgh.
  • There are spot closures and flooding conditions on Route 9 north of Sleepy Hollow and in, and north of, Route 9A in Elmsford. 
  • The Bronx River Parkway is closed north and southbound from the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers to Virginia Road in Valhalla.
  • The Cross County Parkway ramps are closed to get onto the Bronx River Parkway, and are closed from E. 233 Street. to Oak Street in Yonkers.
  • The entrance ramps to the Hutchinson River Parkway from the Cross County Parkway are closed, the Hutchinson River Parkways are shut down north and southbound from Boston Post Road to East Lincoln Avenue. 

If you're driving into Rockland County, be warned. Route 59 in West Nyack is closed in both directions at the Palisades Center mall because of flooding, which is also affecting the mall's ring road. On Route 303, one lane northbound near the Clarkstown Landfill in West Nyack was shut early this morning because of flooding and Route 303 from Orangeburg Road to  Mountainview Avenue was again closed early this morning because of flooding in Orangeburg.

Conditions are worsening along Route 59 and Route 303 in West Nyack. Police suggest morning commuters avoid the area.
