Hudson Valley Food Pantry Hosts Fundraiser; Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the White Plains Library Friday

TODAY: Westchester Jewish Community Services is hosting its Helping Woman workshop: “Ignite Your Spark, Re-Weave the Story of Your Life, Produce a Meaningful Career Change” today at 9:30 a.m. The workshop will offer a refresher course in intention setting, and moving toward the next career or role with confidence and credibility. Westchester Community Services is located at 845 N. Broadway in White Plains. WEDNESDAY: The Grace Episcopal Church in White Plains is hosting cellist Nancy Donaruma for a performance of the Shostakovich Sonata in D minor; Opus 40 for Cello and Piano, and the Beethoven Trio in B flat Major Opus 11 for its Noonday Getaway Concert series. Ms. Donaruma played with the New York Philharmonic for 31 years and is currently Artistic Director of the Rhinebeck Chamber Music Society. She is joined by colleagues Judith Muir on clarinet and Peter Muir on piano. The event, which is free, begins noon. The church is located at 33 Church St.

WEDNESDAY: The White Plains Library is hosting a special Day of the Dead / Día de los Muertos storytime Wednesday at 7 p.m. Stories will be told in Spanish and English.
FRIDAY: The White Plains Library is hosting a stuffed animal sleepover Friday night in The Trove. Children will be able to enjoy a bedtime story and tuck the animals in for the night. After the children go home, the animal friends will have fun exploring the library. Children can return on Saturday at 2 p.m. to pick their animals up and enjoy a light brunch and slide show of all the overnight adventures. For children ages 4-8.
