Correction: Last Chance, To Run in the Board of Education Election

April 25 is the last day to submit applications to run in the election on May 15. Residents have until April 28 to register to vote.

If you are interested in running for one of three seats on the White Plains Board of Education that are up for election on May 15, then you must submit your petition by Wednesday, April 25.

Each seat has a three-year term of office, which begins on July 1. To qualify you must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years or older and a resident of White Plains for at least one year. Petitions—which must be signed by at least 100 qualified voters—are available and must be submitted to District Clerk Michele Schoenfeld at 5 Homeside Ln.

The election will take place on Tuesday, May 15. Polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m. at six voting districts, found here
