In White Plains, the Only Organic FroYo in the State

Dedicated to offering only organic and fresh food, White Plains’ Lilli Pilli Berry Bar is the only restaurant in New York State that offers frozen soft serve organic yogurt.

“It all goes with the organic café,” general manager Bradford Emmons said. “You can’t have everything else be organic except the yogurt,” he said.

Lilli Pilli opened about 13 months ago in a small building along Main Street, next to Five Guys and amongst some of its owners’ more imposing properties like the Ritz and the City Center. Lilli Pilli is owned by Australian actress Kylie Cappelli and her developer husband Louis Capelli.

The Capellis are planning expansions over the next several months, first to a second floor yogurt kiosk in the City Center-that will serve several types of non-organic yogurt and dozens of toppings, Emmons said.  They are also working on a line of free cold-pressed juices and hoping to expand their brand into Manhattan in the next year or so. Anthony Goncalves, the chef at the Capelli’s sophisticated 42 The Restaurant in the Ritz, makes all the food for Lilli Pilli, Emmons said, and they are working on selling the juices to distributors in the area.

While fresh juice stores are becoming more popular, there are few cold-press juice bars in the area. Cold pressed juicers are different from more commonly used centrifugal juicers because they do not use heat which keeps more nutrients and enzymes in tact. Lilli Pilli is one of the very few places in the area where you can find cold pressed juices. They offer about 20 different juices, depending on the season, and several milks like cinnamon vanilla nut milk and cashew milk (almost impossible to find elsewhere).

Lilli Pilli just started offering a three day cleanse that provides six fresh pressed juices every day, and they now deliver the juice cleanse and other food orders. Read more at facebook.com/lillipilliberribar.
