NAACP Speaks Out on Chamberlain Shooting

A press conference will be held at the Thomas Slater Center, 2 Fisher Ct. in White Plains, on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The is calling for justice in the death of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. who was shot by White Plains Police in his apartment on Nov. 19.

President of the New York Conference of the NAACP Hazel Dukes; Lena Anderson, president of the White Plains-Greenburgh branch; Jamaica Branch President Leroy Gadsden; and members, friends and supporters of the Chamberlain family will speak at  at the , 2 Fisher Ct. in White Plains, on Saturday, May 12 at 12:30 p.m.

“The press conference is being held to call for justice in the police killing of Mr. Kenneth Chamberlain, an African American veteran, in his home by White Plains Police Officers—and to demand that the U.S. Justice Department investigate and prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law, as well as investigate the multiple killings of African American Males by Westchester County Police Officers,” the NAACP’s press release reads.

The NAACP will also discuss the actions, or lack thereof, and role of Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore, who recently announced that a grand jury found no reason to indict city police officers in the shooting.
