White Plains Adopts School Budget to Put Before Voters
The White Plains School Board adopted a $188.8 million budget Tuesday, which voters will decide on in May. The 2012-13 budget raises the tax rate by 3 percent, but remains under the state mandated 2 percent tax cap levy. The tax rate is $565.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, a $16.61 increase from the current budget. Click on the PDF for a copy of the budget overview.

City Reaches Deadlock in Negotiation With Firefighters Union
According to The White Plains CitizenNetReporter, the City has reached a deadlock in contract negotiations with the White Plains Professional Firefighters Local 274, which has been without a contract for the last two years.
