2.) Board to Discuss Budget in Work Session
The White Plains Board of Education will discuss the proposed budget at their meeting Mon., March 28 at 6:30 pm., at ., before adopting a proposal on April 11, which will go before voters on May 17.

David Tobey, a local artist, violinist and orchestra director at two New Rochelle middle schools, will display his paintings and welded steel sculptures at the White Plains Library, Wed., March 30 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Victoria Mills—director of “Hidden Battles,” a documentary on men and women who have killed in war—will conduct a Q&A after a screening of her film Wed., March 30 at 7:30 p.m., at the Ethical Culture Society of Westchester at 7 Saxon Wood Rd. in White Plains. Tickets are $10 at the door.

According to the city clerk, districts 35, 40 and 42 were formally housed at , and are relocated at the , at 20 Greenridge Ave. Contact the city clerk at 914-422-1227 if you need help determining your polling center.It is too late for unregistered voters to register to vote in the special election, but registered voters can apply in person to submit an absentee ballot through March 30. Absentee ballots must be postmarked March 30 or earlier. Call the Westchester County Board of Elections at 914-995-5285 for more information on absentee ballots.
According to the Westchester County Board of Elections, a candidate will not have to win a majority of the vote to be declared the winner; the top vote-getter will be declared the next mayor of White Plains. Check back with us for more election coverage.
