State Police: Bronx Man Nabbed In Yonkers Bank Robbery
White Plains-based unit turns suspect over to FBI; probe looks for links to other robberies.

The White Plains-based Special Investigations Unit of the New York State Police arrested a Bronx man in connection with Wednesday's robbery of a Key Bank branch in Yonkers.
Michael Johnson, 35 of Walton Avenue, the Bronx, was charged with the Key Bank robbery on Central Park Avenue after information was gathered at the scene of the robbery and after consultations with the Rockland County Intelligence Unit and Orangetown police.
State Police members located a vehicle matching the description of the one seen fleeing the bank robbery in the area of Walton Avenue in the Bronx. A surveillance was initiated and. Johnson was seen exiting his home a short time later carrying a laundry bag, laundry detergent and a black backpack.

He was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of the proceeds of the bank robbery, police said. Johnson was ultimately turned over to the FBI after consultation with both Rockland and Westchester County District Attorney's offices for prosecution by the US Attorney.
The multi-agency investigation into Johnson's possible involvement in other area bank robberies continues, police said.
