Police: 3 Teens Caught With Cocaine on Chester Ave.

A group of anxious-looking teenagers police believe were sharing a bag of cocaine in a City parking lot were arrested early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to reports of four teenagers hiding behind a dumpster in the parking lot at 9 Chester Ave. at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday. Police say they saw the teens looking nervous and pouring a white powdery substance into their hands, indicating they were using cocaine.

As police approached they say two of the teens ran. Officers were able to catch one of them, a 19-year-old from Elmsford, and also found a red Ziploc bag they believe he threw to the ground containing cocaine. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

The two who did not run, both 18, one from Thornwood the other from White Plains, were also charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police say the bag contained a total of .44 grams of cocaine.

All three suspects were booked and processed at police headquarters.
