Police Accuse 2 of Marijuana Possession

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Deparment, it does not indicate a conviction.

White Plains police cited an 18-year-old Rye man and his passenger for marijuana possession this week after finding two bags of pot, a grinder and pipe in a vehicle Tuesday evening, according to an arrest report.

Both were cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Police stopped the two for an alleged traffic violation near the intersection of Hamilton Ave. and Bank St. just before 7 p.m. After smelling marijuana in the vehicle, police say the 18-year-old driver admitted to having two small bags in the vehicle's center console.

Police say they also found a grinder and pipe containing marijuana residue on the vehicle's floor. According to police, the driver took ownership of one bag of marijuana, while the passenger said the smaller bag was his.

Both were processed at police headquarters and released. The age and home town of the second suspect were not immediately available.
