Police: Alert Neighbor Stops Motorcycle Theft

A White Plains man's attempt to steal a motorcycle from a backyard on Lafayette Street this weekend was thwarted by an alert neighbor, police say.
Isiah Styles, 21, faces a felony grand larceny and a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge after police say the neighbor spotted him wheeling the motorcycle from the backyard of 18 Lafayette Street at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to police, when the neighbor spotted Styles in the yard she yelled out at Styles, who dropped the bike and ran down Lafayette Street and turned onto Fisher Avenue. Police later found Styles hiding out near Kittrell Park, where the neighbor identified him.

The motorcycles left handlebar was damaged during the incident.
Styles was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was held for court the following day.
